Pastor Tuvai Faatai has been a spiritual and social support in the surrounding community and internationally through his ministry experience at Calvary Chapel South Bay (CCSB) since 1985. From coaching at a local public high school, praying for students and their families when called upon to officiate funeral services, blessing graduates at family celebrations, attending community events to pray for God’s blessing, helping unfortunate families who are in need, to standing before the impoverished in third world countries to offer them assistance.
Tuvai has served as a pastor/ministry leader at Calvary Chapel South Bay since 1985. Beside serving at LIFTED, and being a mother to their son, Tuvai’s wife, Diana, is a public school educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Tuvai’s signature mark is his walk of faith when it comes to his long awaited son. When he and his wife got married in 1994, God gave Pastor Tuvai a promise that he would receive a son from his wife’s womb. For years, his wife sought out different ways for them to have a child. After 12 years of waiting, God sent a sign through a miscarriage. His wife was devastated yet he was overjoyed. In his mind, God sent the sign that he had been waiting for. His wife’s womb can carry a child! In 2006, Diana was devastated when the ultrasound confirmed that she miscarried their first child. Exactly one year later to the day, another ultrasound confirmed that there was indeed a baby in Diana’s womb! Not only is their long awaited baby alive and well today, at 5 years old, he saw a need overseas to help children in need. And fulfilling that need evolved into what is now a non-profit organization that helps children and families in need.
We believe in the inerrancy (free from error) of Scripture, that the Bible — Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible, Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God the Father is the personal, transcendent and sovereign Creator of all things.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross, was bodily resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He poured out His Spirit upon the believers in Jerusalem, enabling them to fulfill His command to preach the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by all believers today.
We believe that all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that they are proven valid for today if they are exercised within Scriptural guidelines. We as believers are to covet the best gifts, seeking to exercise them in love so that the whole body of Christ might be edified. We believe that love is more important than any spiritual gift, no matter how impressive it might seem, and without love, all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life in Heaven, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal life in Hell.
We await the pre-tribulation rapture of the church, and we believe that the second coming of Christ with His saints to rule on earth will be personal, pre-millennial, and visible.More
